prestigious park, the Festival is conveniently located near Downtown,
the famous Galleria area and the elegant residential communities of
River Oaks, and Memorial. The Festival has a demonstrated history of

Call for Entry: September 30, 2010 Blossom II - Art of Flowers Sponsored by Susan Kathleen Black Foundation, Houston Texas. Open to any living artist. Works must be original, completed after Sept 1, 2008,
and must not have won any previous prize or award in any other competition.
Multiple entries accepted. Original, two-dimensional art only. Excluded are:
computer enhanced or generated artwork, sculpture, reproduction prints,

Alternative Kilns/Firing Techniques

This workshop will focus on fast firing techniques described in James
Watkins’ book "Alternative Kilns & Firing Techniques". The class will
also cover surface decoration and discuss ways that the physical
environment can be used as creative inspiration.

Texas Clay Festival
October 23rd & 24th, 2010
Gruene, Texas
The 18th annual Texas Clay Festival will be held in the Gruene Historical
District of New Braunfels on October 23 & 24 2010. Featuring the work of over 60
Texas potters and clay artists, the festival offers the opportunity to view and
purchase a wide variety of pottery, from traditional to sculptural by the top
clay artist in the state. Take this unique opportunity to watch and learn as
demonstrations are held in four tents throughout both days. From forming on the
potters wheel to hand-building to raku firing, there is something for everyone.
