Dahlia Woods Gallery features Art for the Masses a holiday group show that will have its opening reception Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. and continues through January 30, 2010. The gallery is located at 600 Cantegral Street , Dallas, Texas 75204.
The show features the following artists and their work:
Etty Horowitz, Will Johnson, Chris Lattanzio, Katie Maratta, Kenney Mencher, Skip Noah, Jamie Pink, Linda Sheets, Andrew Wick, Camille Woods & Dahlia Woods.
Etty Horowitz creates shimmering metal sculptures filled with visual movement and social comment. Will Johnson’s sculptures from found materials provide moments of whimsy and serenity, often evoking archetypal American imagery. Chris Lattanzio creates striking portraits in monochrome bas-relief and stunning sculptures from laser-cut steel.
Katie Maratta takes you on her unique Texas road trip landscapes, each measuring 1” by 48”. Kenney Mencher paints enigmatic neo-noir scenes evoking The Thin Man and other classics of film noir. Skip Noah paints dream cities and dream scenes in dazzling colors. Jamie Pink’s shimmering glass mosaics capture the eye with their unique crystalline beauty. Linda Sheets’ scratchboard animal portraits are rich in humor and emotion.
Andrew Wick, working in both oils and egg tempera, paints uniquely American scenes that comment on our daily lives. Camille Woods paints surreal Texas-inspired landscapes. Dahlia Woods captures the world with her bountiful color palette, painting scenes of Dallas, around Texas, Mexico, Italy and wherever she travels.
